Roles Association Implements "Women Rights Are Human Rights" Project in Roles Association

Hebron – Maan—In partnership and cooperation with Roles Association (ADWAR), Women Center for legal and Social Counseling implemented a workshop entitled "Defining women rights' needs". 25 women of mothers who are related to Roles association participated in the workshop.

The workshop focused on important issues like; violence against women, violence based on gender, penal code, personal statue law as these rights are parts of human rights that confirm on equality between men and women in the social and legal life.

The participants (females) expressed their needs to projects that improve their experiences and raise awareness of women legal rights in order to empower them individually and socially to help them affect decision makers to take decisions that protect women from violence.

The social specialist in the woman center for legal and social counseling noted that this project will raise women awareness about how to face violence and the importance of laws in protecting women.

" the group will be trained throughout ten workshops in different topics", the legal and social consultant added.

Sahar Alkawasmeh, Roles general director, said that " this project is very important as it develops women individually as it helps them express their feelings and analyze the rooted relation between patriarchal system and facing the violence that is based on gender in the basic association " family and in other associations."

" the second level is creating able and aware women who work to effect decisions makers in order to adopt programs and form laws the protect and develop women", Alkawasmeh added.
