(Empowering Bedouin women in decision-making and accountability within local councils)
Roles for Social Change Association –ADWAR-RSCA is implementing a project entitled (Empowering Bedouin women in decision-making and accountability within local councils) funded by the Netherland representative, in partnership with local Bedouin counsels, the ministry of local government, ministry of women affairs, the General Union of Palestinian women-GUPW, Central Election Commission CEC and Maa’n T.V )
Developing local good governance, accountabilities’ values and practices in C marginalized Bedouin areas as well as gender issues, in order to fulfill women needs and improve services reality.
- To improve the capacity building for Bedouin women in accountability mechanisms and gender issue, in order to play active roles in Local Councils, fulfill women needs and improve services.
- To enhance Bedouin women in political participation and accountability campaigns, in order to force Palestinian decision makers to support women rights and needs.
- To raise Palestinian people awareness in particular Bedouin communities about Bedouin women roles in political decision making at local councils.
Project Target group:
Bedouin women and men, and local councils in the four Bedouin communities’ south of Hebron include (Um AlKhair, Khashm AlDaraj, AlZweideen, AlNajada).
Project Target areas:
The project targets four Bedouin communities’ south of Hebron classified as (C) areas, and suffer from negligence and lack of level of services provided by Palestinian authority institutions. Those communities include (Um AlKhair, Khashm AlDaraj, AlZweideen, AlNajada).
