Bedouin women protection committee to activate1325 resolution in area C
Roles for Social Change Association-ADWAR and United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women are implementing the project (Bedouin women protection committee to activate 1325 convention in area C) in cooperation with Ministry of Women Affairs MOWA, The Association of Women Committees for Social Work (AWCSW), Colonization Wall Resistance Commission CWRC, The independent Commission for Human Rights ICHR, Bedouin Local Councils BLC and Ma’an media Agency.
Involve Bedouin women in maintaining security and peace-building operationsbased on international conventions, especially in the areas affected by conflict.
- To institutionalize one protection women committees, and improve Bedouin women capacity regarding observing and documenting violations in order to protect their rights and their families’ based on 1325.
- To enhance “WPC” role in supporting 2000 marginalized Bedouin women and their families’ needs through documentation of violations and the referral system procedures to access legal aid, and services from Palestinian state organizations. As well as demand their rights as basic human rights.
- Fostering Bedouin women participation in advocacy campaigns to influence decision makers in Palestinian and international organizations, in order to take their responsibilities and protect women from political violence.
Project Target group:
Bedouin women in the southeast of Hebron Bedouin communities (Om Alkhair, and Khashm AlDaraj).
Project Target areas:
The project targets two Bedouin communities’ south of Hebron classified as (C) areas, and suffer from violations of occupation and lack of services level provided by Palestinian authority institutions. Those communities include (Um AlKhair and Khashm AlDaraj).
