Roles for Social Change Association- ADWAR in partnership with Palestine Workers’ Union, Family Development Association, and Association d’Échanges Culturels Hébron France (AECHF), ended the theatrical performance entitled ”Houriyya”, as a part of the “Protecting Women’s Legal Rights” project that aims at achieving the objectives of ADWAR’s social program in order to protect rights of Palestinian women and girls from violence in all its forms by eliminating all forms of discrimination acted against them; Which is represented in their awareness and empowerment individually and collectively. This work is presented in partnership with Family Courts, Women’s Clubs, Palestinian universities in the south of West Bank and Youth Centers in Hebron.

Project coordinator, Ayah Abu Mayaleh opened the theatrical performance and welcomed the attendees. Then she defined ADWAR Association and the project generally and its objectives. As well Head of Palestine Workers’ Union welcomed the attendees and praised the role played by ADWAR in supporting and empowering women, pointing the importance of women’s role in the Palestinian society. As well importance of women’s legal knowledge and its role in protecting family.

The storyteller, Fida Ataya, presented the story of “Houriyya” which represents Women’s suffering in Palestinian society, In addition to several issues related to women’s rights. In the ending of the show, the discussion was opened to the audience to inquire about legal and legitimacy issues. While audience questions were answered by the Legal Advisor Alaa Marqa, who provided attendees with legal advice and counselling and answered many questions posed by the participating women. The discussion was full of legal questions that touched on the issues of women in the Palestinian society in general, And Hebron in particular.
