Roles for Social Change Association conducted the last theatrical performance entitled “Houriyya”

Roles for Social Change Association conducted the last theatrical performance entitled “Houriyya” in partnership with Palestinian Labor’s Union and the Family Advancement Association and the Hebron-France Culture Exchange association in south Hebron which comes as part of Protecting Women’s Legal Rights project that aims at achieving the objectives of the social program including protecting Palestinian women and girls rights from all forms of violence by working on eliminating all forms of discrimination practiced against them; Which is represented in raising their awareness and empowering them individually and collectively. This activity comes in partnership with family courts, feminist clubs, Palestinian universities in the south of the west bank, and youth clubs in Hebron.
The project’s coordinator Aya Abu Mayali commenced the theatrical performance and welcomed the audience. She also introduced Roles association and the program and its goals. On his part, the head of the Palestinian Labors Union welcomed the audience and complimented the Role of Roles Association in supporting and empowering women. He also asserted on the importance of women’s role in the Palestinian community, and the importance of women’s legal knowledge which playes a great role in protecting the Palestinian family. The Palestinian storyteller Fida’ Ataya performed a theatrical sketch entitled “Houriyya” which simulates the sufferings of women in the Palestinian community and talks about many topics regarding women’s rights. After the performance, a conversation was held in which the audience asked questions regarding legal matters. Their questions were answered by the association’s lagal advisor Ala’ Maraqa who gave advices and legal consultations to women. He also answered many questions raised by women since the meeting was full of legal questions regarding women in Palestine in general and Palestine in particular.
