Project Empowering Bedouin women in decision-making and accountability within local councils

General Framework
Implemented in partnership with local Bedouin counsels, the ministry of local government, ministry of women affairs, Central Election Commission CEC and Maa’n T.V, funded by Netherland Government. 

 Period of Time 
7/2016– 7/2017 

 Objectives
– To improve the capacity building for Bedouin women in accountability mechanisms and gender issue, in order to play active roles in Local Councils, fulfill women needs and improve services.
– To enhance Bedouin women in political participation and accountability campaigns, in order to force Palestinian decision makers to support women rights and needs.
– To raise Palestinian people awareness in particular Bedouin communities about Bedouin women roles in political decision making at local councils. 

 Target Group
The project targeted Bedouin women and men in local councils in the four Bedouin communities’ south of Hebron include (Um AlKhairKhashm AlDarajAlZweideenAlNajada).
