Roles for Social Change Association-ADWAR in partnership with Marah Radio conducted the fifth episode of “My Right” program presented by Samar Addibs within the project “Protecting Women’s Legal Rights”.
This episode specified to provide women with legal information regarding their right of be paid for nursery and custody and familiarize them with laws and measures followed to defend women’s rights regarding nursery & custody pay; as well as informing women how to all legal measures by family courts to protect women & young women after divorce.
In the beginning of the meeting, the family court judge Dr. Abdullah Asaily defined paid rent for nursery and custody and what they include in specific because if a woman asked her husband to be paid for feeding their children he must fulfill her request inferred that from the holy Qur’an (And if they breastfeed for you, then give them their payment) according to Al Hanbali School.
Dr. Asaily pointed out that if the wife ?? then it is not permissible for her to claim her right of being paid for nursery, while if she’s divorced it is because it’s mentioned in the Holy Qur’an (And if they breastfeed for you, then give them their payment and confer among yourselves in the acceptable way), so he thinks that this Quranic verse defends divorced woman right, while the previous one defends wife’s right.
In his turn, Asaily defined laws followed by family courts by which women can get their rights od being paid for nursery and custody. Then, the social specialist Hikmat AlKawasmeh informed followers regaring nursery and custody pay pointing out some problems that women suffer from within this framework indicating social and psychological effects that women may face when they are not able to get their rights.
In the end of the episode, AlKawasmeh presented a few recommendations in order to raise awareness on how to get their rights to be paid for nursery and custody as well as the most important measures necessary for that.
