The head of the protection committee in Al khan Alahmer – Khadija Arara asked the Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture to provide the most important needs

The head of the protection committee in Al khan Alahmer – Khadija Arara asked the Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture to provide the most important needs required by the Khan to ensure a good agricultural season, especially with the onset of winter.
In her talk to Nesaa FM, Arara pointed to the problems facing agriculture in the Red Khan and the lack of basic and medical supplies for the livestock they are ranching , which threatens its production of milk.
For his part, director of the services department in the Directorate of Agriculture of Jerusalem, Engineer Basel Amr confirms that the Ministry of Agriculture is ready to provide blankets (Alshoadr) that will protect the sheep during winter in the area of the Red Khan.
He pointed out that the protection committees should distinguish their needs as Bedouin women and the needs of the assembly. He mentioned during the seminar that there are many problems facing the agricultural sector in Al-Khan and needs material and moral support, as well.
The workshop discussed the most important difficulties and challenges faced by women in the Red Khan especially in the agricultural sector and the needs of members of the committees of women’s protection in this sector, pointing to the recent occupation decision to demolish Al Khan and its possible repercussions on the village women and the agricultural sector.
The episode, which was broadcasted on Wednesday, 19th of September, was an accountability to decision makers in the Ministry of Agriculture about their role in improving the reality of agriculture in the Bedouin Khan.
This is the third of a series of previous workshops within the framework of the project “Towards Women Who Make Change in Priority Societies and Make a Difference in Their Lives and the Lives of Others” in partnership with local councils in Hebron and East Jerusalem and Nesaa FM and with the financial support of the Dutch government.
