Roles for Social Change Association-ADWAR the implementation of the project entitled “Towards Women Who Lead Change in Priority Communities and Make a Difference in their Lives and the Lives of Others “, and the Radio episode entitled ” in partnership with the local councils and funded by the Dutch government, where community initiatives that are led by the members of the Women’s Protection Committees in East Jerusalem were completed in the priority areas: Abu Nowar, Al Khan Al Ahmar, Al-Kassarat, and Anata. these initiatives aimed give the opportunity to apply accountability mechanisms to be implemented through the members of WPC, where they provided various initiatives to serve the local community and continued to work with the decision makers to meet the needs of other women and girls in the priority communities. One of the most important initiatives that were implemented is the one in Abu Nowar community entitled “let’s Cooperate” which stressed the importance of the role of women in the economic life of the local community and the importance of continuing and improving vocational education for girls, Where Al Khan Al Ahmar Bedouin community (Al Kassarat) emphasized on The importance of women’s participation in community life in the initiative “Our Kindergarten”. Finally, Anata initiative, entitled “Let’s improve the Agricultural Sector.” It highlighted the importance of improving communicating process with agricultural institutions in order to develop the agricultural sector and activate the role of women and girls in community activities. For her part, General Director of the ADWAR Dr. Sahar Yousef Al-Kawasmeh noted that these community initiatives are very important in the project because they are a pivotal stage, providing the opportunity for members of WPC to apply their knowledge and skills on the ground and provide services to women and all members of the family.
