Round table Meeting with decision makers in the Palestinian government

Within the activities of the project “Digging the voice strategy for Bedouin Women equal rights” funded by Canada Government , Roles for Social Change Association-ADWAR held a round table meeting with decision makers in the Palestinian government and among members of the women’s protection committees in the Bedouin communities Khan AlAhmar _ Al-Kassarat East Jerusalem and Masfer Bani Naim Hebron ,In the presence of members of the Executive Committee of the PLO, Wasel Abu Yusef, the head of the Human Development Department, Faisal Aranki, and the head of the Wall and Settlement Resistance commission , Minister Walid Assaf, continued, in the presence of ADWAR Staff represented by Dr. Sahar Alkawasmeh and the project coordinator Lana. Abu Ajamiah.
The meeting aims to enhance communication between members of women’s protection committees with decision makers in the Palestinian government and highlight their needs and the reality of services in these marginalized communities and to provide the official letter signed with their names to officials /parties in the Palestinian government in order to improve the reality of services.
The member of the Executive Committee of the Liberation Organization Abu Yousef confirmed that the decision makers’ cooperation in finding solutions to all the needs presented by women’s protection committees in areas classified as “C” and interest in solving them, noting that this requires 90% of the speed to give all priority and attention to the gatherings in The context of resolving all possible services for women in areas classified as “C”.
For his part, the member of the organization’s executive committee, head of the Human Development Department, Faisal Aranki, said that the department works to restore the human and militant value of Palestinian women, particularly in the Bedouin communities in which women constitute a model of boldness and resilience, expressing his willingness to provide effort and support for any project that serves women in Marginalized areas.
In his turn, the head of the Wall Resistance and Settlement commission, Minister Walid Assaf, affirmed the commission’s commitment to provide all basic requirements for food, health and education in those areas in order to support its resilience and enhance the Palestinian presence in it.
For her part, the general director of the ADWAR Association Dr. Sahar Alkawasmeh said that this meeting comes to raise the voice of women in the aforementioned regions, and communicate their voice to decision makers in order to achieve the desired demands, and she explained that the most problems faced by women in those areas suffering from Not providing adequate transportation and providing a good environment for education, stressing the need to stimulate women’s work and improve the reality of the services provided to them.
The meeting included a wide presence of various Palestinian unions and institutions.
The meeting witnessed a presentation and discussion of the most important needs of women in marginalized groups of services in Khan al-Ahmar and Masafir Bani Naim, and a mechanism for taking practical steps by decision makers to implement them in order to improve the reality of services.
