Project Palestinian Environment Guards

General Framework
Implemented in partnership with the Environmental Quality Authority, the Ministry of Agriculture, Tarqumiya Municipality, Beit Kahil Municipality, Tarqumiya Women Charitable Society, Tarqumiya Women Club, and the Cooperative Society for Savings and Credit in Beit Kahil and funded by Global Environment Facility GEF/ Small Grants Programme SGP / United Nation Development Programme UNDP. 

 

Period of Time 
11/2017- 8/2018 

Objectives
– To institutionalize an active womens body called Natural Reserve Guards  and to develop their capacities on their environmental development roles and accountability mechanisms in order to accountable decision-makers in the Palestinian government and the private sector about their role in protecting and preserving Wadi Al Quff reservation.
– To promote the participation of women residing in the vicinity of the Wadi al-Quff reserve in the western part of Hebron governorate by setting up small economic and development projects that contribute to the recycling of various wastes and preserve the natural heritage and appearance of the reserve, as well as improvement of womens economic situation. 

 Target Group
The project targets rural women in Tarqumia and Beit Kahel West of Hebron.
