Starting the implementation of the project activities (Strengthening the role of women protection committee as advocates of peace and security in Priorities communities in Hebron through response to the humanitarian needs and prevent conflict)

ADWAR Association opened today, Wednesday 20/5/2020, the activities of the project Strengthening the role of women protection committee as advocates of peace and security in Priorities communities in the Hebron governorate, in partnership with Women’s Protection Committees and local councils in the Hebron governorate and funded by the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality Women Empowerment – Women’s Fund for Peace and Humanitarian Action (WPHF).
Aims to empower women’s protection committees, activate their participation and plan effectively to respond in humanitarian crises, in order to ensure that the special needs of women and girls in crisis and post-crisis situations are met in addition to protecting less fortunate women and girls.
The program targets women and girls in (Masafer Bani Naem, Al-Maqara, Masafer Yatta, and the Old City) where women’s committees will distribute food parcels and sterilization bags to women and girls in the targeted gatherings.
For her part, the General Director of ADWAR Association Dr. Sahar Alkawasmeh that this project is a very important step because it spot the light on the role of women and girls in maintaining security and peace in a crisis situation and enhances the role of women’s protection committees and their active participation in society.
