“Men are Partners in Change – ADWAR and the Military Training Authority is holding a meeting in Jericho

Jericho – Dr.Sahar Alkawasmeh General Director of ADWAR Association called for the accumulation of policies to enhance the women participation in the Palestinian security forces, while appreciating the efforts made in this direction, in order to achieve social justice and fairness for women in this vital field.
This came during a presentation by ADWAR today, Monday, 11/30/202, in front of the Military Training Authority in Jericho, in the presence of the head of the commission, Major General Yusef al-Helou, and the participation of a group of women officers , in honor of the 16 days campaign against violence.
Alkawasmeh reviewed the most prominent features of the social gaps between women and men in Palestine, based on official statistics, confirming that these gaps are a product of the cultural system in which both men and women fall victim.
Alkawasmeh expressed her hope that the current participation rates for women – albeit small – will be a prelude to higher participation of women in the security forces.
For his part, Major General Al-Hilu appreciated this meeting, noting that the active role of women has always been present in Palestinian society, and stressed the endeavors of the permanent committee to enhance the presence of Palestinian women in the security services.
At the end of the meeting, the Commission briefed ADWAR Association about its facilities and training, and Major General Al-Hilu honored the Association’s staff.
