The “Men’s Alliance” continues its steps in support of women’s political participation in local government

In a new step that demonstrates the true will of the men’s alliance in support women’s political participation in local governance, which was launched by the ADWAR last November as part of the “We Men are Your Allies” project, the alliance members in Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, took the initiative to hold an open dialogue with a group of electoral list candidates In the town, in partnership with the ADWAR and the Gender Forum in Local Governance, on Wednesday 23/2-2022.
During the session, the participating women and young women expressed their most prominent hopes and aspirations, and discussed the most prominent challenges they faced during the candidacy process, while the participating alliance members expressed their full support for the women participating in the electoral lists in the town, and discussed with them ways to confront the challenges that may hinder their access to decision-making positions in town council.
Dr. Sahar Al-kawasmeh expressed her admiration for the experience that Beit Ummar carried, and the support of the alliance members for the female candidates, stressing the importance of women assuming positions of political decision-making and its positive repercussions on all groups and segments of society.
It is noteworthy that 18 women and young women participate in the electoral lists in Beit Ummar out of 33 candidates, and one of the lists is all women and young women.
