Women’s Protection Committees lead the implementing humanitarian initiatives process efficiently in local communities
ADWAR Association has completed the project “Strengthening the role of women protection committee as advocates of peace and security in Priorities communities in Hebron through response to the humanitarian needs and prevent conflict” with humanitarian initiatives led by Women’s Protection Committees in the targeted communities in Hebron, aimed to enhance the role of the Women’s Protection Committees in maintaining peace and security in case of crises and activating their active social and political participation in the local community, protecting the rights of disadvantaged women and girls, and responding to the needs of other women in the gatherings.
For her part, the General Director of ADWAR Association Dr. Sahar Alkawasmah said that these initiatives are an important tool to achieve women needs in particular, for the family and the community in general, which contributes to alleviate the burdens on their shoulders and improving the reality of human life to reach social, economic and political empowerment.
Where the project had great results and impact in empowering and sustaining women’s protection committees and activating their participation by providing them with knowledge and skills related to accountability mechanisms, peaceful participation , national and international agreements, in addition to planning effectively for response in humanitarian crises, in order to ensure that the special women needs are met in crisis and post-crisis situations , by addressing the social and cultural barriers that prevent women’s representation and participation in these crises.
