Preparatory meeting entitled: (Group Empowerment for Women who has been through Divorce experience)

Roles for Social Change Association-ADWAR implemented a preparatory meeting entitled: (Group Empowerment for Women who has been through Divorce experience) within the framework of the project: “Women advocate against the concept of (Divorced women) and their isolation from civic life” in partnership with Middle East Partnership Initiative MEPI and funded by American consulate.

53 women have participated in the meeting from all Palestinian Governorates (Jericho, Hebron, Bethlehem, Ramallah, Nablus, Jenin, Salfeet, Tubas, Tulkarm, Qalqilya) . In which the meeting were held with the cooperation of Tawasul Centres in Qalqilya, Tubas, and Salfeet governorates in Jericho Municipality’s child centre hall.

The meeting aimed at providing opportunities for women to exchange experiences and express their feelings and pains, as well as unifying their speech and empower them as a group. That is to prepare them to meet decision makers from the Supreme Judicial Council and Ministry of Interior.

ADWAR’s General Director Sahar AlKawasmeh pointed out that this meeting comes as a pre activity  for the meeting with officials in order to unify the efforts and demonstrate women’s who have been through divorce experience demands and deliver them to decision makers.
