Launching the grassroots network in order to eliminate economic violence

ADWAR Association launched the grassroots network to eliminate economic violence through the inaugural ceremony that it implemented in Jericho with the participation of women and young women from grassroots associations in Hebron, East Jerusalem, Bethlehem and Jericho, in honor of the 16-day campaign to combat violence against women. .
This ceremony aimed to present the role of the grassroots network in protecting the economic rights of economically battered young women to local communities as well as civil and governmental institutions. The network’s sustainability plan and future plans that the network members will work on were presented in order to bring about a change in the procedures and policies for reducing economic violence.
Ms. Wijdan Bali spoke about economic violence and said, “Economic violence against women leads to marginalization of their role and limits their economic participation, and leads to many violations of their labor rights. We, as a grassroots network that brought together many governorates, must bring about change to reduce this violence.”
This ceremony comes within the project “The grassroots network to protect the economic rights of young women and women in Palestine”, which is implemented by ADWAR in partnership with PWWSD; within the Feminist Program for Women’s Economic Rights (FEM PAWER).
FemPAWER is managed by a consortium with Arab Women Organization (AWO) in Jordan, Collective for Research and Training on Development (CRTDA) in Lebanon, The Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation (Kvinna till Kvinna) in Tunis, Palestinian Working Women Society for Development (PWWSD) in Palestine, and funded by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands.
