Needs Identification Sessions of women and young women in Hebron and Gaza

Thursday,12/22/2022 – A group of women in Bedouin communities in Hebron (Masafer Bani Naim, Masafer Yatta) and Gaza (Juhr ad-Dik and Al-Mughraqa) demanded support for their small projects and the provision of needs that ensure their continuity. This came during the implementation of the ADWAR Association four sessions to determine the needs of women and young women in those areas, with the participation of 160 women. These sessions come within the framework of the project: “The economic activities of women in the priority communities are a painful reality and the absence of official recognition in Hebron and Gaza.” The participants also demanded decision-makers to compensate them for the losses they suffered from the loss of poultry, livestock and sheep, the demolition of facilities and the bulldozing of farms, in addition to demanding facilitating their access to service providers. These sessions aimed to identify the most important issues that women suffer from in economic life at the formal or informal level. A position paper was also created that dealt with their economic issues and needs, which will be presented to the relevant decision makers through accountability sessions that ADWAR will implement later. ADWAR Association is implementing its project in partnership between the Center for Democracy and Workers’ Rights, the Palestinian Working Women’s Association for Development, the Cosby Foundation and the EducAid Foundation, with funding from the European Union.
