Mini Follow-up Meetings

ADWAR Association, in partnership with the Women’s Protection Committee and in cooperation with the municipality in Khallet Al-Mayyah, held a follow-up meeting on Sunday, 7/30/2023 in Khallet Al-Mayyah area, southeast of Hebron Governorate, on women’s needs for the transportation line and public transportation that connects the communities of Um Lasfa, Al-Dirat, Al-Rifa’iya, Um Al-Shaqhan, Al-Buwaib and Khallet Al-Mayyah with Yatta and the city center, which the Ministry of Transport and Communications pledged to improve and follow up on the development of the line. Mr. Musa Rahal, the official spokesman for the Ministry, responded by providing two public vehicles to operate this line as a temporary solution now, after specifying with the residents and the municipality the gathering points and times for movement and transportation to suit the people.
As for the area’s needs for paving roads and infrastructure, they were discussed with the directorate of Local Government, and placed at the top of the priorities to be followed up, taking into account the adoption of the needs of women, the people in these areas and their reflection in the national and strategic plans of the Ministry of Local Government to improve the reality of services for the better in the future, as it was agreed upon allocating larger budgets to support the municipality to implement projects that are in the interest of the people and serve the community.
The Mayor, Mr. Majdi AlAdra, the Director of Public Relations at the Local Government, Mr. Monther Al-Junaidi, officials and members of the municipality, and the general traffic controller for the Yatta and Hebron regions participated in the meeting.
This activity comes within the framework of the CPCE Civil and Community Engagement Project, which is implemented by CRS Catholic Relief Services in partnership with the International Family Health Foundation fhi360 and funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
