British women delegation in addition to Palestinian women visits ADWAR Association and the old city of Hebron

Roles for Social Change Association-ADWAR hosts a delegation of Palestinian and British women in partnership with Dar AlSadaka Camden-Abu Dees within the exchange program that Camden implements.

the ceremony started with ADWAR welcome speech by the general director Sahar AlKawasmeh in which she referred to the most important achievements and challenges that Palestinian women face. As well as the most important social, economic , and political rights that ADWAR supports. Furthermore, she displayed ADWAR’s objectives and accompanied the delegation to exhibit some of handmade handcrafts of women like wool toys, accessories, and Palestinian embroidery.

The delegation continued the tour in the old city of Hebron as Hebron Rehabilitation Committee HRC presented a brief on the status of occupation, closures, restrictions, violations by settlers and reality of women, children and men in the old city.

AlKawasmeh pointed out that the status of Palestinian women is different of those of women in the Arab world because they face two types of violence; social violence which is represented in laws, policies, and practices of social and economic life. As well as the violence practiced by occupation and settlers against Palestinians and women especially. So, Palestinian women played an active role in creating strategies of resilience and adjustment in order to keep the Palestinian land.
