ADWAR held a meeting in cooperation with the Palestinian Prisoner Club and Family Affairs Commission with liberated women prisoners from Hebron, in order to determine their needs on the social, economic and political level.
According to ADWAR Association mission and objectives to reach the largest possible number of women who have been subjected to political violence and provide support to them in order to promote social and economic participation within the Palestinian society and contribute to empower them individually and collectively.
The most important result of the meeting that prisoners expressed their needs to work on psychological support, discharge and work on collective empowerment as prisoners of war as well as the desire to work through income generating economic projects , and influence decision makers in order to meet the rights of women prisoners as a human right as to have equal rights in the Palestinian society.
It was also agreed to develop a mutual work plan under the supervision of women prisoners, aimed to determine the events and activities during 2016 and 2017.
ADWAR General Director also expressed the importance of the meeting as it sheds light on an important issue in the Palestinian society which is dealing with the women prisoners and their needs within the binding work program executed by ADWAR Association and its partners.
