Roles for Social Chang Association-ADWAR continues implementing activities of the project (Increasing Women’s Political Participation Through Effective local election in Marginalized community) in partnership with the German Cooperation (GIZ) and funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
The project is implemented in partnership with the Local Bedouin councils, Protection committees, Ministry of Local Government, Ministry of Women’s Affairs, General Union of Palestinian Women, Central Election Commission and Ma’an Network. The project is targeting Bedouin women in the Bedouin Communities of South Hebron and East Jerusalem which located in (C) areas including (Yatta, AlRamadin, and east Jerusalem).The capacity building training targeted Bedouin women in AlDahreya-Arab AlRamadin, AlJahaleen/Abu Nowar gathering, and Yatta south of Hebron.
The program aims to improve the capacities of marginalized Bedouin women about the importance of political participation in local elections through nomination and voting, as well as access to decision-making positions in the local Bedouin councils, in order to raise gender practical and strategic based services level. It also aims to improve the self-esteem and confidence of targeted women to claim their practical and strategic gender needs.
