ADWAR continues implementing its activities within the project entitled (Protecting Women Legal Rights)

Roles for Social Change Association-ADWAR continues implementing its activities within the project entitled (Protecting Women Legal Rights) in partnership with the Enhanced Palestinian Justice Programme and in cooperation with Family Court, four higher education institutes in the southern West Bank, and three Youth Centers in Hebron city. In the presence of the Judge of Family Court, Abdullah Alisayli, the legal consultant, Muhammad Ajlouny, teh general director of ADWAR, Sahar Alkawasmeh, and the director of AlDahriya Women Organization, Jihad Altell, and a number of AlDahriya women and girls.
These educational seminars aim to introduce women legal rights that protect women from gender-based violence, enhance equality between sexes, support marginalized women in breaking the barriers to reach Family Courts, and increase awareness to local communities in Hebron City about Family Courts service and procedures.
The general director of ADWAR, Sahar Alkawasmeh started the educational seminar with introducing ADWAR roles in developing Palestinian women and girls’ abilities, enhancing their participation in general life fields and reducing violence against women and girls. Alkawasmeh also pointed out the importance of this project as it plays a role in increasing the awareness of women about the role of Family Courts and women legal rights in marriage, divorce, dowry, alimony, and inheritance cases. In addition to increasing their awareness and confidence in Family Court services and procedures, and the necessity of staying away from justice systems of tribes.
the director of Aldahriya Women Organization, Jihad AlTell welcomed and appreciated ADWAR for such a project which aims to increase the awareness of women in their legal rights aspect. also she welcomed the judge and the legal consultant for their presence.
Besides, the Judge of Family Court, Abdullah Alisayli, explained that personal status which is applied in Palestine cover several laws; such as the provisions of the betrothal, marriage, dowry, alimony, divorce, custody, filiation, inheritance and breastfeeding. As well, he introduces the roles of Family Courts, and cases these courts cover and services they provide to women. besides the importance of guidance and reform department for its role in decreasing social conflicts, marital disputes, and divorces rates.
The legal consultant of the project, Muhammad Ajlouny explained to the women Family Court procedures in marriage, divorce, alimony, inheritance, and dowry. He also added to what the judge said about the importance of guidance and reform department and its role in decreasing social conflicts, marital disputes, and divorce rates, the thing that makes Palestine has the lowest rates of Divorce in the neighbor countries and the Arab World in general.
