ADWAR started the second phase within the project entitled (Protecting Women Legal Rights)

Roles for Social Change Association-ADWAR started the second phase, which is theatre performances implemented at Palestinian universities in Hebron, within the project entitled (Protecting Women Legal Rights). These theatre performances aim to increase awareness of students about women legal rights and break barriers to reach Family Courts.
The first theatre performance of “24 Qirat” play was implemented at Al-Quds Open University-Dura Branch in partnership with Dreams Group. This play aimed to let students break barriers, go to Family Court, and ask for their legal rights. As well it aimed to create meaningful discussions about women legal rights and reaching justice.
Moreover, the field coordinator of ADWAR, Lina Wahsh opened the meeting by introducing ADWAR’s role in increasing awareness about gender through enhancing women in economic, political and social fields. As well, she pointed out the importance of this project as it works on breaking barriers and increasing confidence in reaching Family Courts. Yet, increasing confidence in services provided by Family Courts and its procedures in marriage, divorce, alimony, dowry, and inheritance rights.
Besides, the Branch Director, Dr. Jamal Bhis welcomed ADWAR, the legal consultant, and Dreams Group represented by Abid Al-Mughny Al-Ja’abarie, and he showed the importance of such projects as they aim to increase students’ awareness about women legal rights.
As well, Abid Al-Mughny Al-Ja’abarie discussed the importance of this meaningful and rich play and he encouraged students to leave the academic atmosphere and interpret the play with meaningful and rich thoughts.
The legal consultant of the project, Muhammad Ajlouny concluded this meeting by replying to students’ questions that followed the play, in which this part of the meeting aimed to increase students’ awareness in women legal rights and services provided to women by Family Courts.
