Roles for Social Change Association – ADWAR started its second phase, which is dialogue meetings with influencers and official men from local communities

Roles for Social Change Association – ADWAR started its second phase, which is dialogue meetings with influencers and official men from local communities; within the project entitled (Towards Women who Lead Change in Priority Communities and Make Difference in Their Lives and Lives of Others). The project is funded by The Government of Netherlands and in partnership with Bedouin Local Councils in Hebron and East of Jerusalem. Moreover, the project aims to establish Women Protection Committees (WPC) to fulfill women’s gender based needs and fill the gap in women’s social and political participation.
Today’s Dialogue meeting was held in Jala, in the presence of the general director of ADWAR, Sahar Alkawasmeh, the field coordinator Lina Wash, members of WPC, members of Beit Umar Municipality, and Jala School’s Staff.
Besides, the meeting aimed to improve the connection between WPC’s members and influencers men in local community; in order to activate their role and enhance mutual cooperation methods between WPC’s members and men in local community to facilitate women’s work while implementing the project activities and develop the level of their social participation. As well, to recognize women’s needs in Jala.
Furthermore, WPC’s members expressed Bedouin women’s different needs in Jala, such as water and electricity distribution, paving roads and sewage problems. So, Beit Umar Municipality promised them to document all their needs to work on solving them.
