Roles for Social Change Association- ADWAR has opened it’s 8th dialogue sessions of Decision Maker’s Accountability Members of the Committee for the protection of women in ‘Bedouin gathering Jala’ with the Municipality of Beit Ommar and the Local Government Directorate.
this activity comes as part of ( Towards Women who Lead Change in Priority Communities and Make a Difference in their Lives and the Lives of Others) project which is funded by the Dutch government and in partnership with the Bedouin local council in Hebron city and east of Jerusalem, Women Protection Committee and women from the Bedouin gathering in general, Roles of Social Change Association’s representative was the coordinator Dua’a Al- Jamal along with the Head of Beit Ommar municipality Sir. Mosa Awad and the Representative of the Local Government was Sir Izz Al- Deen Al Atawneh have participated in the session. Too many women have offered their needs including being exempted from paying the water and electricity bill since the citizens of the Bedouin community are refugees, paving the secondary entrances of the houses, the edges of the roads, putting a banner on the entrance of the gathering, providing a service of collecting the garbage whenever it’s needed and a ground connection. Sir.Al Atawneh promised to send all the requests of the area to the respected minister of Local Government in order for him to be aware of the conditions of this area, ask him to visit it and have a closer look at the situation there so he can help them. The representative of Beit Ommar municipality said that he will take their conditions and requests into consideration and deliver them to the mayor in pursuance of achieving the requests.
In the end of this dialogue session, the ladies have thanked Roles for Social Change Association- ADWAR for this session and requested to hold more workshops and courses due to their importance in enabling the women and strengthening their resilience especially in the marginalized areas .
