Roles for Social Change Association-ADWAR along with its partners (Environment Quality Authority, Agriculture Ministry, Tarqumya Municipality, Beit Kahel Municipality, Tarqumya Women Charitable Association, Tarqumya Women Club, Cooperative Association for Saving and Credit, and Environment Guards Council female members; organized the final exhibition that’s entitled as “Preserving Environment is the Responsibility of All of us”. The exhibition was as part of the project “Palestinian Environment Gaurds”, and funded by Global Environment Facility GEF/ Small Grants Program SGP / United Nation Development Program UNDP.
The exhibition aims to expose women’s products from productive environmental projects to inform local society how to get rid of waste in healthy was, and to help them selling their products to improve their economic status. The exhibition also aims to raise the awareness of local society about the significance of changing their behaviors by avoiding dumping waste in Wadi al-Qof, and promoting positive and environmentally friendly behavior.
The exhibition opened with speeches about the project activities evaluation and impact by the presence of ADWAR General Director, Dr. Sahar Elkawasmeh, General Coordinator of Global Environment Facility GEF/ Small Grants Program SGP / United Nation Development Program UNDP, Mrs. Nadiah Al-KHudri, General Director of Ministry of Agriculture, Mr. Osama AL-Jarrar, Director of Environmental Quality Authority, Eng. Bahjat Jabareen, President of Beit Kahel Municipality, Mr. Yousef Al-Asafra, President of Tarqumya Municipality, Alhajj Fakhri Tanneneh, General Director of Beit Kahel Savings and Credit Association, Arwa Al-Atawneh, Treasurer of Tarqumya Women’s Association, Miernan Qabaja, and Treasurer of Tarqumya Women Club, Najah Fataftah.
Then, partners presented their recommendations and suggestions and praised the role played by ADWAR Association represented by its General Director in supporting women projects. They also praised the role played by women in environmental, economic, social, and political life. Recommendations and instructions were presented to develop and continue the project. After that came the ribbon cutting, the exhibition opening, and touring in the exhibition. Attendees expressed their admiration for the distinctive women’s products from Wadi al-Qof wood and trees.
