Accountability meetings with decision-makers

ADWAR Association opened the first activities of the third phase of the project (Towards Women Who Leads Change in the Priority Communities and Makes Difference in their Lives and the Lives of Others) Wednesday 15/1/2020, where the first accountability sessions organized with decision-makers with GVC at Al-Mieteh Bedouin gathering in Tubas governorate.
This phase aims to network relationships between women in priority communities and decision-makers, listen to their demands and hold decision-makers accountable for the services that must be provided in the community.
In the presence of ADWAR, represented by the project coordinator, Noor Manasrah, Mira Al Faris represented the GVC, and members of the Women Protection Committee in Al-Meiteh.
Initially, Noor Manasrah started with an introduction of the project and its activities and commended the GVC’s cooperation and rapid response in listening to women’s demands and needs.
For her part, Ms. Mira provided a definition of the nature of the work of the GVC and the services it provides, especially for priority regions, which suffer from a lack of services of all kinds.
Then the women presented many needs, highlighting their suffering by the lack of an electricity source that limits the practice of life naturally, especially as the alternative in these gatherings is the use of solar energy, which is frequently maintained in winter, in addition to the problem of roofs and rehabilitation of homes, and the lack of bathrooms.
Among the results of the accountability session, Ms. Mira said that she is fully prepared to work to provide the demands of women and help them as possible in order to meet their needs, especially as her organization is working hard to solve the problem of damaged solar energy in the gathering.
This project is funded by the Netherlands government and in partnership with local councils .
