Social Counseling Section

Social counseling department was renewed by Roles for Social Change Association (ADWAR) RSCA under the social program including gender and development approach which aims to empower and support women individually, collectively, socially and organizationally in terms of decisions making.

The social counseling department emerged out of the association interests in the whole perception toward social, economic and political approaches in order to promote and develop Palestinian women. It came also from the association interests in the social programs which aim to achieve complete accordance with women. In addition to the large number of women from Hebron asking for help and advice to challenge the barriers that faces them which induced ADWAR Association to establish social counseling department in order to offer: individual counseling, collective counseling, and marital counseling services to enroll women in all ADWAR association activities and empower them in different fields to overcome all the challenges they face.

Social Counseling section Objectives

• To empower and support women individually throughout giving them a chance to express their feelings and basic needs to overcome all barriers that prevent them from strengthening their position in private sphere.
• To strengthen women’s capacities, self-esteem, abilities and reform their personalities throughout empowering them psychologically, socially and economically.
• To raise men’s awareness and reform their orientations to protect women from violence and to change their stereotyped toward women’s roles in the society.
