The Completion Conference (The Unified Women’s Council: Reality, Achievements and Future Plans)

ADWAR Association concluded the activities of “Our Path for Prosper Future” project, which was implemented over three years, with the participation of women from the targeted communities in the West Bank and Negev, and with a wide presence of governmental, international ,and civil society human rights organizations.
The conference aims to present the reality of priority gatherings and the response of decision-makers to improve the reality of services, and to create safe spaces for women who are members of the women’s protection committees to hold the decision-makers into accountable who provide services, whether health, education, environment, agriculture, water, and others, and about their role in providing and improving services based on the results of the study and the Human Rights Document handed to them by the members of the Unified Women’s Council during the project period.
The ceremony was opened by the Secretary of the Board of Directors, Mr. Ashraf Amr, highlighting the role played by ADWAR in various fields and its access to all segments of society in order to support and advocate for women’s issues especially in priority areas.
In her turn, Dr. Sahar Alkawasmeh, ADWAR’s General Director, ensured the importance of this joint cooperation in supporting Palestinian women and young women and improving the reality and conditions of women in priority communities to reach social justice, and the importance of the role of the Unified Women’s Council and the continuation of sustainability in its work to achieve outstanding issues and demands.
For his part, Dr. Rafiq Al-Jabari, Assistant Governor of Hebron Governorate, expressed his happiness with this wonderful achievement and the importance of the project in serving Palestinian women in priority communities and strengthening their steadfastness on the ground. He is Ready to follow up all issues and demands of women with the competent authorities to achieve them.
For her part, Ms. Maria Velasco, Deputy Representative of the European Union in Palestine, expressed the importance of the formation of the Unified Women’s Council and the project’s achievements at the level of the West Bank and Negev, the distinguished role of Palestinian women in insisting on improving the reality of these gatherings for the better, and the importance of the role of women members of the Unified Women’s Council in achieving security and peace. The European Union will continue to support Palestinian women to achieve social justice and development.
After that, the final evaluation video of the project , in addition to presenting the achievements on the ground over the past three years.
In the end, there was an open discussion between the women members of the Unified Women’s Council and the Women’s Protection Committees in each of the West Bank and Negev, and between Hebron Governorate, the Palestinian Environmental Quality Authority, Bani Naim Municipality, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Transport and Communications, The Ministry of Social Development, the Ministry of Local Government, and other local and international civil society organizations, for accountability in pending issues and to compare the results of the study on the reality of services and the needs of women and the promises by decision makers and the real response on the ground to improve the reality of services.
This conference comes within the activities of the “Our Path for Prosper Future” project, in partnership with the Sidrat AlLaqiya Association/Negev and funded by the European Union.
