Catholic Relief Services Delegation Visit

On Thursday , 9/2/2023, Catholic Relief Services A high-level delegation visited ADWAR headquarters to see the project impact “Towards an organized and effective community participation that ensures improving the reality of services” on the protection committee members role and lives , members of the men’s coalition, and partners from local parties .
Where the General Director Dr. Sahar Alkawasmeh gave an introduction about ADWAR Mission and objectives, in addition to the most important achievements that ADWAR worked on since its establishment, the importance of working with the women’s grassrotes, specifically in priority communities, and the experience of women’s protection committees in promoting and empowering women and young women to participate in public life.
In their turn, the Women’s Protection Committee members in Deir al-Assal presented the committee’s achievements and that through continuous and diligent work, there has been a response from decision-makers about the services that the region suffers from, specifically the paving of internal roads.
The women’s protection committees members in Khallet Mayeh and Beit Marsam talked about the project impact and the change, whether at the individual or collective level, after this experience, and their future aspirations towards effective community participation and the desire to shift from informal to formal work by starting procedures for licensing women’s associations.
Women’s Protection Committee in Masafir Bani Naim shared their experience from the beginning of the committee’s formation until obtaining the license of the Masafer Bani Naim Women’s Association to be a distinguished model for other committees.
For their part, the members of the Men’s Alliance expressed the opportunity they had through this coalition to learn about the conditions of women and young women in Palestine and the most important challenges they suffer from, in addition to their role in standing by them and demanding their rights through continuous meetings.
This visit comes within the framework of the CPCE Civil and Community Engagement Project, which is implemented by CRS in partnership with the International Family Health Foundation fhi360 and funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
