Women in Gaza Seek Life and Find a Way

ADWAR Association continues to provide group counseling and therapy services for women, young women and girls affected by the aggression on Gaza, aiming to create spaces for expressing feelings of pain, anger, and sorrow. also focuses on rebuilding self-confidence and acquiring necessary skills to adapt to the challenges they face. ADWAR Association is the first organization work with women in the northern Gaza Strip amidst the current political circumstances.

ADWAR Association Holds Awareness Sessions in Jericho on Women’s Support and Protection Mechanisms Amidst Current Conditions

ADWAR Association conducted an awareness session as part of the project “Men as Allies to Support and Protect Women from Exploitation” on Sunday, May 13, 2024, highlighting the importance of the PSEAH protection policy. The sessions aimed to educate our partners from the targeted groups on how to use protection tools against exploitation and how to protect women, young women and girls, benefiting from the developmental and humanitarian services provided by various organizations.

The session targeted young women and women in the city of Jericho who expressed the most significant challenges they face within this framework, including the lack of budget for legal representation for women victims of assault and exploitation. Additionally, women themselves do not have sufficient funds to pursue their legal rights in prosecuting the perpetrator, leading them to surrender and prioritize providing money for their families’ expenses. This is in addition to the exhausting procedures associated with cases referred to protection organizations.

To ensure the sustainability of sessions and knowledge among women and young women, ADWAR Association provides a helpline service. Through this service, counselors follow up on cases and refer them as needed to facilitate women’s access to services contributing to protecting them from exploitation and assault.
