ADWAR Association held the second workshop entitled (Right in Education according to gender) in partnership with education directorate of South Hebron (Yatta)

ADWAR Association held the second workshop entitled (Right in Education according to gender) in partnership with education directorate of South Hebron (Yatta), HIRN, and World Vision.
The workshop started with the welcome speech of Yatta educational directorate representative Mr.Khalid Hosheya, Mr.Aziz shatat a social activist from Zeef, in addition to Ms.Jumana Rishmawi the representative of World Vision in which she shed light on the organizations’ role of supporting girls’ school.
Mrs. Sahar AlKawasmeh ADWAR general director illustrated the importance of this workshop, as it came upon the needs of Zeef residents as a completion to the implementation of awareness workshops, especially after the results of the project : Supporting gender equality regarding access to education in the south Hebron hill; which emphasized the importance of working with men decision-makers, parents, clergy, and clans ; in order to raise awareness of the importance of continuity in education for girls as a basic human right.
The workshop targeted a number of influential men , elders , village leaders and clan elders to educate them about the importance of the right in education for girls, and the importance of bridging gender in the proportion of girls’ participation in education, and the promotion of networking mechanisms and coordination between the partner institutions and the Directorate of Education in Yatta, as well as the community in order to work together on the integration of girls in schools, reduce the dropout, and determine the mechanisms of action and initiatives that would contribute to the improvement of the educational environment for girls and enhance the continuity of their education.
