Roles for Social Change Association- ADWAR held the second conversational sessions to question decision makers by members of Women protection committee in Bedouin collective at Al-khan Al-ahmar along with Women Affairs ministry.

This activity comes as part of the activities of project entitled (Toward Women Leading Change in Primary societies and Making change in their lives and others’) funded by the Dutch government in partnership with Bedouin Local Councils in Hebron and east Jerusalem.

The participants included members of Women and protection committee in the Bedouin collective, ADWAR Association General Director Dr. Sahar AlKawasmeh, and the legal advisor in Women’s Affairs Ministry Wafa’ Al-A’raj.

Women talked about their needs and they shed the light on the area’s lack for basic livelihood needs including water, electricity, health and education and how these needs should be fulfilled, during the meeting AlKawasmeh pointed that she will consider their needs and try to fulfill them as much as she could.

On her part, the legal advisor Al-A’raj talked about the most important international decisions related to women specially 13/25 and she pointed that the century deal won’t pass. She also talked about the importance of Palestinian women’s participation in the economical, social, and political life. Al-A’raj from Women’s Affairs Ministry added that she’ll pass there messages to the concerning bodies to empower them and advocate their presence.
At the end of this session, women expressed their appreciation for ADWAR Association for this conversational session, and asked for more workshops and trainings that empower women and advocate their presence especially in neglected and marginalized areas.
