Roles for Social Change Association-ADWAR started the seventh discussion session for decision-makers’ accountability by Women protection committee members in Jala Bedouin Gathering in cooperation with Beit Ummar Municipality.
This activity comes within the project “Towards Women who Lead Change in Priority Communities and Make a Difference in their Lives and the Lives of Others” that is conducted in partnership with Bedouin Local Councils in Hebron and East Jerusalem. Women of Jala bedouin gathering, ADWAR Association project coordinator Duaa’ Al Jamal, Beit Ummar Municipality President Mr. Maher Ikhlayel, Municipality members, and Jala mixed school director Mr. Ameer Hmeedat were involved and participated in this session.
Women asked for an exemption from paying for water and electricity because the gathering inhabitants are refugees; and they asked for paving houses entrances, expanding the roads’ sides, providing the gathering entrance with banner, providing continuing service for waste collection, and providing ground-based communications networks; so gathering inhabitants were promised within this session to to be provided with communication network. Ikhlayel promised to take women’s needs into consideration and working on fulfilling their needs later than 27/8/2018.
In the end of this session women attendees thanked ADWAR Association for such effective and purposeful session and asked for more workshops and trainings for their importance and effective effect of empowering them and support their solidarity especially in such marginalized areas.
