For the third consecutive year, ADWAR Association has completed the capacity building program, which is part of the project (Towards Women who lead to Change in Priority Communities and Making a Difference in Their Lives and the lives of Others).
This program aims to develop the knowledge and skills of women in Bedouin communities in the following topics: gender, accountability mechanisms, and how to implement community initiatives.
This program targeted 90 women in Bedouin communities, the most important results of which were the establishment of 6 women’s protection committees in the following locations: Tubas Governorate (Bedouin Ibzek, Al-Maleh, Al-Maitha) and Jericho Governorate (Nuweima, Al-Dyouk Al-Fawqa, Al-Fasayel Al-Fawqa).
For her part, the General Director of the Association Dr. Sahar Alkawasmeh said that this training program is the first step to qualify women for the next phase of the project, which is to meet influential men and hold accountable decision-makers in the Palestinian government and the private sector.
The project comes in partnership with local councils and is funded by the Dutch government.
