The reality of women in the Bedouin community of Al-Nuweima in Jericho,,, big needs,,, and simple demands for a decent life

Women Protection Committee in the Bedouin community of Nuweima, Jericho District, called on the private sector and decision-makers in the government to stand up to their responsibilities in a set of demands based on gender. Through a radio episode, Sheikha Al-Zayed, a member of the Women Protection Committee that was formed within the framework of the “Towards Women Leading Change” project, which Roles for Social Change Association is working on. Al- Zayed said that the most prominent women’s demands were to provide “shakes” for the dairy industry in light of the fact that women are the one who bears the greatest responsibility in this agricultural work on which the families in this community are depending on . Al- Zayed added that one of the most prominent demands is also the restoration of the gathering houses, which cause them many problems with the flow of water in the winter, and the danger of reptiles in the summer. As well as solving the water and electricity crises and securing transportation for school students.
This citizen expressed her hope that people of Bedouin community’s voices would be heard , and that the private sector and official institutions would respond to their appeals.
Roles for social change Association- ADWAR is working on the “Towards Women Leading Change” project for the third year in a row, while this year it has targeted six Bedouin communities in Jericho and Tubas.
