Women protection committee in Almaita in Tubas on decision makers to meet basic needs

Women Protection Committee in Al-Maita Bedouin community, south of Tubas, demanded to meet a set of basic needs based on gender.
The committee contains 15 women, which was formed through the project “Towards Women Leading Change” ,which ADWAR association for Social Change is working on, held a series of accountability meetings with decision-makers and demanded the improvement of housing conditions that do not protect them from the cold of winter or summer heat, The Ministry of Education also called for improving the reality of education in the community, as the nearest school is 3 kilometers away.
During a special radio episode prepared and implemented by the ADWAR , the project coordinator Noor Manasrah, said that the women’s committee unanimously asked the private sector to meet the needs of women to provide the tools necessary to cook food in a healthy and safe way, asking decision-makers to give these areas a special importance because of their own reality.
Manasrah emphasized that the formation of the Women Protection Committee carries great importance because it will be the voice of less fortunate women to question decision-makers in various issues, noting that the experiences of the women’s committees in the gatherings targeted by the project were successful as they were able to achieve a number of feminist demands.
This year, ADWAR targeted six Bedouin communities in Tubas and Jericho as part of the “Towards Women Leading Change” project, which is continuing for the third year in a row.
