Project Women Economic Activities in Priority Communities, a Painful Dire Reality and Official Recognition Absence
General Framework
This project is implemented by the ADWAR Association for Social Change, within grants to third parties in order to enable women’s civil society organizations to engage in advocacy at the local level within the project “Gender Equality in the Economic Field: Our Right and Priority” (NEAR-TS 2020/420-955) implemented by the Center for Democracy and Workers’ Rights in partnership with the Palestinian Working Women Association for Development, COSPE and EducAid, funded by the European Union.
Period of Time
9/2022 – 2/2023
Project goals
-Enhancing the role of Bedouin and rural women in public life to improve the level of formal economic participation in Hebron and the Gaza Strip.
-Improving mechanisms of accountability and influence by women based on the principle of equal opportunities to enable less fortunate women to access local programs and services that provide them with decent work and economic rights.
Target group
Women and young women who head their families and own small economic activities, and a percentage of women with disabilities in Bedouin and rural communities in Hebron (Masafer Bani Naim, Khallet Al-Daba’) and the Gaza Strip (Al-Mughraqa, Juhr Al-Deek).
