Roles for Social Change Association(ADWAR) Achieves Six Workshops about Women Right to Inheritance

 In partnership with YMCA and funding by European Union, Roles for Social Change Association(ADWAR) implemented six awareness workshops about “Al – Takjaroj is a concession via return, so receive it form a judge” including “ women right to inheritance” YMCA project .
The workshops targeted more than 120 trainees (males and females); and aimed to raise women awareness about the importance to break their fears and silence barriers to get their inheritance right accordant to Islam. They aimed also to face all obstacles and challenges which prevent them from getting their right whereas the women right to inheritance one of the important ways which help women get an upscale position in their society and family.
 In addition, all trainees were aware about the importance of forcing their fear in order to get their inheritance right which came as a result to get the masculine

protection. Also, the workshops informed the trainees about that the basic need of protection is related to knowledge, science and skills that women have; In addition to the private projects and their complemented relation with the cooperating man. The workshops also aimed to raise men’s awareness about the importance of working with women. Also, they aimed to enhance men to support women to get their right of inheritance and to change men traditional culture and stereotype toward women’ roles as she is a main partner, not a dependant, in her family and no need to get their right of inheritance.
     The trainees confirmed on the importance of the workshops in affecting them to raise their awareness about the importance of this right; in addition to raise men’s awareness of the importance to work in supporting women right to inheritance. The trainees also enhanced the cooperation work with men which may help in changing the culture of society toward the traditional role of women.
     Amani, the women right to inheritance project coordinator in YMCA, noted to the importance of partnership with Roles for social change association as it is a specialized association in “gender “issues. Also, as it targeted youths, in Hebron, whom are considered as social development leaders to create a better future for men and women.
 Sahar AlKawasmeh, Roles general director, confirmed on the importance of “women right” project as it is considered as one of the important activities which Roles abandoned as it was related to social and economical sides in both men and women’s life.
 “ the project affected women’s life in terms of re-production the strength relation within family members and progressed women’s life personally, socially and economically and helps them make decisions ” , AlKawasmeh added.
  She noted also to the importance of raising men’s awareness about the importance of women right to inheritance as it progresses them and does not indicate their disclaimers toward their wives and families. But it makes their families more coherent and helps them doing their paternal jobs perfectly; specially with the difficult social and political Palestinian circumstances.
